ABOUT Jerome

I got started in DXing when I was about 12 years old. My father gave me a Realistic DX-160 for Christmas one year. I installed an outdoor antenna that was around 110' long. Man, I could pick up stations from all over the world! I was hooked after that episode. After that came the CB radio bandwagon, I was on it. I set up a base station in my outdoor playhouse, not knowing at the time that was actually my first "HAM SHACK", and talked to all the locals on CB.

Fast forward many years, and my wife, Shelley, and I attended a Skywarn meeting at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi. At the meeting, several members of the Northeast Mississippi Radio Amateurs attended and invited me to one of their meetings. The rest is history.

Here is my first HF Transciever.

She is a Kenwood TS-130S.

My friend John Byzet, WA4IAX, rebuilt it for me. Thanks for everything, John.
